The depth of this involvement is evidenced by the repeated recognition of Ojus Elementary as a Golden School Award recipient for the last 13 years. This award recognizes our school for documented volunteer hours well over twice the number of student on register at the school.
In addition, in 2008, Ojus became one of the prestigious Miami-Dade County Public Schools to be awarded the Five Star School Award by the Governor. This is a most difficult award to qualify for and Ojus did it in style being recognized for its Dade Partner Program, Involvement in the Community, Family Involvement and again its outstanding Volunteer commitment.
